Presented is a Ray Nitschke Green Bay Packers helmet that is signed and inscribed (three times) by the Pro Football Hall of Fame middle linebacker. Nitschke was the regular middle linebacker during the Packers’ glory years under coach Vince Lombardi. Nitschke won five NFL Championships and the first two Super Bowls. He was a 2-time NFL First-Team All-Pro. Fellow Hall of Famer Mike Ditka said the Nitschke wasn’t just a run stopper who played in the middle behind the defensive line. “He had great range and athletic ability, and I think people forget that,” said the Chicago Bears great tight end and coach. Nitschke was named to the NFL’s 50th and 75th Anniversary All-Time Teams.
The Riddell helmet is gold, with green and white trim. It has a three-bar cage, with “Riddell” on the front just above the cage. There is a chin strap, with “Riddell” printed on each side strap. The outside back of the helmet has a “L” decal, indicating size. The back and the inside back both have a warning decal that states the helmet is for display purposes only, not use. Also, on back is a PSA/DNA sticker (AB74278). Each side of the helmet has a Green Bay Packers logo. Nitschke signed the helmet neatly, writing in fine tip black marker. After his bold signature, Nitschke inscribed: “#66/H.O.F. 1978/Super Bowl I & II.” The helmet is in EXCELLENT condition. Authentic Helmet. Does not have PSA card.
