Offered here is an incredible piece of baseball history. This Official American League Ban Johnson stamped baseball was used during the July 29th, 1911 game that saw Boston Red Soxs Smoky Joe Wood hurl a no-hitter against the visiting St. Louis Browns at Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds. Woods no-hitter included 2 walks and 12 strikeouts in Bostons 5-0 victory in the first game of a double-header. This ball displays heavy game use and has been inscribed July 29, 1911, Won 1st Game Day After Dorothy and Evelyn arrived by Friday Coach by Trenton. Team Score 5-1. A wonderful piece of baseball history from an early 20th century no-hitter and this comes with a LOA from MEARS (317500) for the game use.
