From a not-too-distant era during which 500 career home runs meant automatic enshrinement in Cooperstown, this Rawlings-Adirondack 34 bat commemorates that esteemed longball fraternity and is autographed by its (11) then-living members. The strong blue marker signatures include: Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Reggie Jackson, Harmon Killebrew, Mickey Mantle , Eddie Mathews, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Frank Robinson, Mike Schmidt and Ted Williams. The bat dates to 1987-1989. At that time, the 500 Home Run Club was 14 members strong (with Ruth, Foxx and Ott preceding the aforementioned players). Since then, performance-enhancing substances have played a role in membership skyrocketing to 27. Folks, these are the true home run heroes, not the laboratory experiments that followed.
