Although the Dodgers were out of the playoff chase, over 49,000 fans arrived (mostly late…) at Chavez Ravine on a beautiful fall evening to push the season’s attendance over 3,000,000, and to view the latest installment of the ancient Dodgers-Giants rivalry. With San Francisco clinging to playoff dreams, and with Barry Bonds only three Home Runs away from Mark McGwire’s record, it was a great chance to boo the opposition and play spoiler! In this poster, we see Barry at the plate in the third inning of a 1-1 tie. With the count at 1-0, two out and no one on base, this may have be his best chance to get a pitch to hit. As the crowd watches breathlessly and starter Terry Mulholland delivers, SNAP! The moment is preserved for all-time, and is now available for your wall!

To every Dodger fan’s delight, Barry did not go deep in this game, and he ended the season 4-for-35 with only one HR at Dodger Stadium in 2001. And although the Dodgers did blow a ninth-inning lead to lose this game, the Giants ended up falling short in their playoff run!
