Mark Eaton Signed Utah Jazz Game Worn Sneakers Shoes JSA COA

Introduction

Mark Eaton had graduated from high school and was a 7’4″ auto mechanic when he was discovered by Tom Lubin, a chemistry professor and the assistant basketball coach at Cyprus College, a community college in California. Eaton played at Cyprus College and then very sparingly at UCLA. He had already paid himself for two professional try-outs when the Utah Jazz selected Eaton in the 4th round of the 1982 NBA Draft. He was certainly a “project,” but as Jazz coach Frank Layden said, “You can’t teach height.” Eaton wound up playing his entire NBA career with the Jazz (1982-93). Eaton made himself into a defensive stalwart. The center was selected as the NBA Defensive Player of the Year for both 1985 and 1989. He was a 5-time member of the NBA All Defensive Team, and he led the league in blocked shots in four seasons. When he retired in 1994, he was second only to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in career blocked shots. The Adidas sneakers show the Adidas name and logo on the back of each sneaker. No size is marked on the sneakers, but the sneakers measure slightly over 14 inches long, a length befitting a 7’4″ player. On the outside of each sneaker, Eaton has signed and inscribed, “Mark Eaton #53 Jazz.” The sneakers exhibit nice use. Mark Eaton passed away in 2021, and the signed sneakers make a nice remembrance for an often-underrated defensive big man. Comes with JSA COA.
