Suffering the most famous headache in baseball history, Wally Pipp (d.1965) was replaced in the New York Yankees lineup on 6/2/25 by Lou Gehrig, who famously didn’t miss a game for the next fourteen seasons, causing the Yankees to put Pipp on waivers. A fairly productive hitter throughout his lengthy career, Pipp is joined in the signing of the offered Official League Baseball by Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr, who has signed on the sweet spot.
